Senator Whitehouse speaking to Cuffee 8th graders about climate change

Just returned from a trip to observe the effects of climate change along the southeast coast ranging from the Carolinas to Florida, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D) met with Paul Cuffee 8th graders via Skype to discuss climate change with them.

For the students, this discussion was the culmination of their climate change unit, in which 8th graders work in both their Humanities and Sciences classes on issues surrounding global/oceanic warming and the effects of climate change on the economy and daily life. Ultimately, the students create “mock laws” to mitigate the harmful effects of global warming.
