In the recent 8th Annual Connecticut State Sport Stacking Championships, PCS 2nd Grader Giovani Love set new World Sport Stacking Association RI state records for his division (ages 7/8) in the 3 competitive stacks. Those stacks are the 3-3-3, 3-6-3, and the Cycle stack. There were competitors from many states (RI, CT, MA, NY, NJ, FL) and countries (Korea and Canada).

A relatively new sport, competitive cup stacking began in the 1980’s and involves stacking plastic cups in specific sequences in as little time as possible. It is believed that stacking improves children’s ambidexterity, reaction time, and hand-eye coordination.
