Eleventh grader Pa Houa Yang won both a gold and a silver key for two drawings that she submitted to the 2017 RI Scholastic Art Awards Competition. Similarly, eleventh grader Salvamarie Alifonso won a silver key for a scratchboard artwork that she entered. All three entries, which are a marvel in texture and realism, were in the Drawing and Illustration category. Pa’s gold key winner (the top left drawing shown above) will now be entered into the national competition.

The drawings will be exhibited until January 29th at RIC’s Chazan Family Gallery in the Alex and Ani Hall.
