Extra Great Reasons to Celebrate!

Paul Cuffee High School graduated its sixth class of seniors on June 13th at Columbus Theatre on Broadway in Providence’s West End. Pegah Rahmanian, who is the director of the Rhode Island College Unity Center, delivered the keynote address and Imani Gonazalez ’19 was Voice of the Class of 2019.

In addition to earning their diplomas, more than half of the Class of 2019 received special recognition for completing AP courses, and six earned an entire year’s worth of college credits from CCRI during their senior year.

College acceptances were offered by 54 institutions of higher education including Penn State, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and several historically black colleges and universities where no PCHS student has been previously accepted.

For the very first time, two Paul Cuffee graduates will be attending Tuskegee University in Alabama in the fall. Founded in 1881 by Dr. Booker T. Washington, Tuskegee University is known for its sound educational programs, values and principles, and is ranked among the top ten historically black colleges and universities in America. We are proud of our graduates and the extended community for helping our students reach this important milestone.

With dedication, hard-work and a shared vision for student success, Paul Cuffee High School was again ranked among the top ten public high schools in Rhode Island and was named the top urban charter public school in the state by US News and World Report.

That too is reason to celebrate!
