|
A veteran educator with more than 30 years of experience, Suzanne Mills-Shaw joined Paul Cuffee School in 2001, the spring before the school officially opened. As an early leader, she helped hire teachers, plan the curriculum, and coordinate the school’s official opening. Before coming to PCS she served in multiple capacities, including working as a high school resource teacher, a K-8 literacy specialist, and a K-5 resource teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Maine and a Master’s Degree in special education with a concentration in literacy. Recently trained in the nationally renowned Reading Recovery program, Mrs. Shaw is a knowledgeable and experienced elementary school literacy specialist. In addition, she is responsible for continuously improving Paul Cuffee School’s academic programs, supervising and mentoring faculty, developing the curriculum, and ultimately helping each student fulfill his or her potential and meet or exceed grade-level expectations.
