Goals


The primary goals of the After School Club (ASC) are:

• To provide a safe and caring environment for our students during after school hours.

• To engage students in a variety of educational and enrichment activities.

• To provide physical and leisure activities that promote cooperation among children.

Daily Schedule

The hours of the After School Club are from 3:00 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A typical afternoon for Kindergarten students in the After School Club will include:

• physical activity

• quite time/book time

• snack

• centers

In addition to this daily schedule, special activities will also be arranged periodically, including projects with visiting instructors.

For grades 1-5 the daily schedule will include the following:

• homework time for up to 1 hour

• snack, physical activity

• enrichment / leisure activities

• special programs to be arranged (examples of these may include drama and science clubs, extra academic tutoring, and computer instruction)

Cancellations

In the event of inclement weather, storm warnings, or other emergency, After School Club closings will be announced on TV Channels 10 and 12. Students will be dismissed per instructions on the Early Dismissal Card which parents have filled out for all early dismissals.

In the event of an early dismissal, Paul Cuffee School will make every attempt to contact Kindergarten and 1st grade parents only. All other parents must rely on TV Channels 10 and 12 for cancellation announcements. Please feel free to contact the school at 453-2626 if you are not sure if we are closing.
