Paul Cuffee Upperclassmen Harrison Richards and Raycily Castillo will be competing in the NAUDL (National Association for Urban Debate Leagues) National Tournament from April 9th-12th in Los Angeles with more than 100 students from debate leagues across the country. All competitors will be the top-ranked teams in their states. This year’s debate resolution concerns whether the federal government should invest in developing the world’s oceans, with topics including the preservation of coral reefs, the development of offshore wind farms, deep-sea oil drilling, and more.
Harrison, Raycily, and their debate partners competed in the recent 2015 Rhode Island Urban Debate League State Championship Tournament, thus winning the opportunity to represent the state at the national tournament.
