Reading for Pleasure

2023 Nominee Flyer courtesy of the RI Office of Library & Information Services

Thanks to our librarian and other book lovers in Rhode Island, the Paul Cuffee Lower School has received its own copies of the 2023 RI Children’s Book Award Nominee Book Sets so that our students in grades 3-5 can be among the children voting for a Rhode Island Children’s Book award winner in 2023! The books are already being enjoyed for independent reading and read alouds.

The 2023 RI Children’s Book Award Nominee Book Set is supported by the Office of Library and Information Services and the RI Center for the Book, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The RI Children’s Book Award is a project of the RI Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) and is co-sponsored by the School Librarians of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Library Association, and the Rhode Island Center for the Book.

We are always grateful for donations of award-winning new books to the school’s library collection, and especially to the Rosalind C. Wiggins Fund, so that the librarian can add new books, by and about African Americans, to our library shelves.
