Twenty-five 11th and 12th graders spent the day at URI’s Kingston Campus to take part in Diversity Week, the university’s celebration of the rich backgrounds and cultures that the students, staff and faculty bring to the campus community.

Paul Cuffee School students engaged in discussions about race, met with Freedom Summer activists who spent their summers in the South fighting for civil rights, and watched a documentary on diversity.

The trip was funded, in part, by a grant from the Providence Rotary.
