Application & Lottery

We are pleased to announce that many of Rhode Island’s charter public schools will be sharing a common application for the 2025-2026 school year application process so that you only have to complete one application for any and all participating charter schools to which you apply.

Applications to Paul Cuffee School’s spring enrollment lottery, and to all other charter schools participating in the Rhode Island Department of Education’s online common application program, must be completed through EnrollRI.org, no later than March 13, 2025 at 5:00 pm

The application process requires that you have an active mobile phone number and email address. If you don’t have an email account, you can set one up for free using Google’s gmail.

You can learn more about EnrollRI and the 2025-2026 school year family information tools and resources for charter public school common application admissions at EnrollRI.org.

What is EnrollRI?

EnrollRI was launched to ensure that access to Rhode Island Department of Education schools and programs remains easy, safe, and accessible for all families, even as we face the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

How to apply?

  1. Use the Family Information Tool (FIT) to find the school(s) that best meet(s) the needs of your child and that offer(s) the programs and values you are seeking.
  2. Next, use the EnrollRI Common Application to apply to any participating charter schools you are interested in and for which your child is eligible to attend.
    • Please note that admission to Paul Cuffee School requires a Providence residence.

Participating charter schools will hold their 2025-2026 admissions lotteries on April 1, 2025 and will communicate your student’s enrollment status soon after that time. Charter public school admission lotteries are random and adhere to state regulations so that the admission selection process is nonselective.
