November marks NaNoWriMo–that is, National Novel Writing Month. This program challenges would-be authors to complete a novel in 30 days. PCS tenth graders, under the direction of Megan Thoma, began feverishly penning their novels on November 1.
This year writers nationally contributed more than 3.2 million words of new fiction on the program’s website. Tenth grade writers Marvick Felix, Afia Islam, and Jorge Guzman all agreed that for them, the best parts of NaNoWriMo were the freedom to write on a topic of one’s own choosing and the experience of feeling like a “real author.”
