On December 17, choruses from Paul Cuffee’s Upper and Lower Schools performed in a joyful holiday concert at the Rhode Island State House.

Making their first appearance as a chorus, 21 Paul Cuffee Upper School students, under the direction of music teacher Danielle Trial, sang five songs for an admiring audience: Winter Fantasy, Shalom Chaverim, Feliz Navidad, Arre Borriquito, and Carol of the Bells. Accompanying the chorus were Sebastian Yidana on piano, Orlando Montalvo on violin, and Kelly Hernandez on viola.

Upper School students were joined by the Lower School chorus, consisting of 50 fourth and fifth graders directed by integrated arts teacher Frances Cruz-Candelario. Students delighted the audience by singing and dancing to Glo-glo-glorious!, This Little Light of Mine, I Hear Those Jingle Bells, When the Lights All Shine, and In the Spirit. Paul Cuffee School was invited to perform for the second year at the State House as part of a series of holiday concerts sponsored by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.
