Head of Providence’s NAACP, Jim Vincent, Teams Up with Upper School Science Teacher for a Real Life Lesson on Social Justice

As part of Teach For America Week, Jim Vincent, the President of Providence’s NAACP team taught a lesson on racism and sexism in the science field with Amamah Sadar, PCS 11th grade science teacher. He focused on two African American scientists who were discriminated against throughout their careers.

Amamah Sadar, herself a Teach For America-Rhode Island corps member, is a regional top college graduate who, along with other professionals, commit to teach for two years in public schools and become lifelong leaders in the movement to expand educational opportunity.
