PCS Middle Schoolers Build Speed Boats to Race in the Cuffee Cup

While studying the physics of propulsion, our 7th grade science students engineered and built boats powered by baking soda and vinegar or a rubber band. They then raced their boats on a 150cm race course and calculated the speed, velocity, and acceleration of their boats.

Here, science student Zayila Howie (left) times boats engineered and built by classmates Alexander LeGassick and Geicy Pena.
