Welcome from the Head of School

Welcome to all of our returning and new Paul Cuffee School families! I am honored to have been asked by the Board to serve as the interim Head of School. In my time as the Lower School Principal, I saw firsthand the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of our families. This year I am looking forward to being accessible across all three campuses and working with all of you to make the year a success.

Wendy Randle, Head of SchoolOver the summer, we worked to enrich students’ learning through the Summer Academies and other exciting programs, to hire dedicated teachers for our growing student body, and to ready our facilities for a record enrollment of 774 students. In August, the entire K-12 faculty and staff gathered to discuss goals and expectations for the school year. Most important is for students’ needs to remain at the forefront of everything we do. At PCS we cherish our students as individuals and do whatever we can to help them achieve their maximum potential.

Big brothers Kazim and Zaid Jalalzai (left to right) arrive with their younger sister, kindergartener Imani, for the first day of school.

The school year is off to a terrific start. Students are already settling into new routines, making new friends, and opening their eyes to new learning experiences. This is a milestone year for the school: When the doors opened on August 28, we welcomed 60 seniors who will become the school’s first graduating class.

College counselor Genevieve Schultz

College counselor Genevieve Schultz plans intensive college prep activities, including a College Day on Dec. 9.

This year a key focus at the Upper School will be preparing students for graduation and beyond, including NECAP preparation, college visits, PSAT and SAT exams, and applications. Learning at the Lower and Middle Schools will continue to focus on developing critical thinking skills and a sense of social responsibility as well as on high standards of academic achievement.

Thank you as always for your continued support and your feedback on how we can further enhance our school. We look forward to another great year!
