Nominated by her math teacher, Mr. Jeff Rackauskas, for the Treasury Young Leader Awards, Cuffee junior Juliani Vidal was one of 41 students state-wide to receive the honor.

Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina Raimondo presented the awards at Ximedica on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 recognizing high school juniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence and service to their community.

Juliani is consistently on the Paul Cuffee Head of School List and the Scholars List, displaying excellence in all her classes.  Her community service activities include volunteering at Providence Recreation Center and the Olneyville Public Library, and tutoring other students.

“I [was] eager to meet these talented students, who not only excel at their studies but also make meaningful contributions in their communities,” Raimondo said. “They truly make me proud and optimistic for the future of our state.”
