Thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Island Foundation, 4th graders and their teachers got to spend three whole days at the Briggs-Boesch Farm in East Greenwich with outdoor educators from Pat’s Pastured. Students enjoyed making connections to what they had been learning in the classroom while hiking on the trails, building structures in the forests, observing birds and animals in the pastures, engaging in farm-related activities, and learning about the history of the land and the responsibility for its stewardship from the perspective of current occupants and indigenous people.
