Eric Bilodeau, Executive Director of PCFF speaking to Paul Cuffee Upper School students
The Paul Cuffee Upper School recently welcomed leaders from the Providence Children’s Film Festival (PCFF), who raised awareness of their programming and introduced a series of initiatives aimed at building technology and storytelling skills among Providence students.
During an engaging all-school meeting, Eric Bilodeau, Executive Director of PCFF, showcased two powerful short films that captivated the audience. The Bear offered an artistic portrayal of a Chilean family’s struggle under the oppressive Pinochet dictatorship, while Ten Meter Tower explored the diverse reactions of people as they faced the daunting challenge of stepping outside their comfort zones. These films sparked reflection and conversation about social justice and courage. PCFF’s visit not only showcased compelling storytelling but also emphasized the importance of using film as a tool to entertain, educate, inspire, and provoke thought. We look forward to the ongoing collaboration between PCS and PCFF, particularly as they partner with Ms. Proft’s 11th Grade English class to help students write their own short films.
