Exploring Local Waters with the Narragansett Bay Commission

It was Pajama Day in Mr. Capellan’s third-grade class—a well-earned celebration for filling their class jar with cubes for kindness, respect, and hard work! But even in their cozy attire, students were wide awake for learning as they met Mrs. Morisette from the Narragansett Bay Commission to kick off their year-long investigation into the freshwater animals that inhabit our local waters, including the Woonasquatucket River, which is located right next to the school.

Mrs. Morisette introduced the students to some of the fascinating critters they’ll encounter on upcoming field trips throughout the year. We can’t wait to see what discoveries they make as they explore the wildlife that calls our local rivers home!
