This year, Paul Cuffee Middle School proudly hosted its first annual Science Fair on Tuesday, June 2. Students from grades 6–8 chose to participate, dedicating their time and creativity to investigating real-world scientific questions. Guided by science teachers Tracey Reaves (Grade 6), Sylvio Gario (Grade 7 and Science Department Chair), and Louis Amodio (Grade 8), students designed, researched, and presented projects that demonstrated curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Projects explored topics with real-world applications, including water filtration, wind turbines, germs and disease prevention, psychological perception, black holes, G-force, seismographs, and chemical reactions. Students presented their findings to a panel of judges, showcasing not only their scientific knowledge but also their presentation skills, collaboration, and perseverance.

Congratulations to our first-place winners, Carolina Cortez and Jayden Cadet, whose water filtration project earned top honors. Their work, along with the many outstanding projects presented, reflects the innovation, curiosity, and dedication of our students, as well as the commitment of our science team to creating engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences. We look forward to making the Science Fair a lasting tradition at Paul Cuffee Middle School.
