As part of an ongoing college access effort, Academic Dean Jeff Racauskus took a group of seniors to Salem State University for a special campus visit in October. Each month, Jeff is introducing students to different colleges within a one- to two-hour drive, helping them explore schools they may not have previously considered.
The Salem State visit offered a unique twist on a traditional college tour. Just a week before Halloween, students explored campus while hearing local ghost stories, trick-or-treating, and meeting Salem State students dressed in costumes.
Beyond the fun, the visit sparked interest in the university, with some students saying they are now considering applying. Upcoming visits include UMass Lowell in November and Massachusetts Maritime Academy in December.
